NHS Pharmacy First Service

The NHS Pharmacy First service is an initiative introduced by the National Health Service (NHS) in England to help patients access quick and convenient healthcare support through their local community pharmacy. The service allows trained pharmacists to provide professional medical advice and treatment, where appropriate, for several common health conditions without the need to visit a GP.

Pharmacy First aims to reduce pressure on GP surgeries and urgent care services while making healthcare more accessible for patients. By visiting a participating pharmacy, patients can receive expert guidance, recommended treatments, and in some cases NHS-funded medications for a range of minor illnesses.
