A project is underway to deliver the UK’s first green shipping corridor between the Ports of Dover, Calais and Dunkirk.
It is part of the UK’s Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition. This landmark project will deliver a green corridor business case and plan that can be rolled out to other UK ports. Dover will map out and model new shore power installation designs using digital twin software.
Schneider Electric will assess green energy pathway options for marine and land vehicles to facilitate the zero-emissions movement of goods and people between the ports. In addition, Schneider Electric will conduct a landside port and fuel analysis and assess ‘cold ironing’ capabilities to provide electrical power to berthed vessels.
