UNICA data shows that ethanol production in Brazil was down 10% during the first half of May at 1.65 billion liters compared to the same period in 2021. The figures include corn ethanol production and not just sugarcane based.
The data also shows that sugar production was down more than 30% from 2021 at 1.67 million metric tons. Sugarcane crushing overall was down 17% compared to 2021 at 34.37 million tons.
